Pomegranate Nail Lacquer- "Fairy Berry"/"Fit for a Prince" review!!

I received some AWESOME samples in the mail about a week ago to review from one of my FAVORITE indie polish makers, Pomegranate Nail Lacquer. This brand is literally unbelievable. I received two colors from their new collection entitled "Royal Fairy Tale". These colors are absolutely fantastically beautiful and pretty cheap as well! These polishes went on sale February 8th. I'm a little late on this because I was testing out another product for review. I've been receiving Pomegranate samples for a few collections, but this is my FIRST with my blog! So now they ALL will be reviewed on here.

Royal Fairy Tale comes with 14 new shades, in a variety of finishes. A quick run through of the available colors (NOT including Fairy Berry and Fit for a Prince, see review for them):

Palace Gardens: An enchanting Emerald green creme with shimmer.

The Queen's Jewels: A medley of diamond, ruby, emerald and sapphire glitter in a clear base.

Storm the Castle: A deep, cloudy teal-grey jelly.

Damsel: A taupe-nude creme with shimmer.

True Love's Kiss: A silvery pink polish with a foil finish.

Book of Spells: A rich bronze creme.

Broken Curse: A myriad of purple and blue micro glitter in a clear base.

Prince Charmer: A rich lavender-grey creme.

Pennywisher: A rose gold polish with a foil finish.

Royal Brat: A bright lime green jelly.

Frolicker: A merry marigold-yellow creme.

And lastly,

Rose Garden Romance: A rich red creme.

PHEW! Now all of these are available for sale RIGHT NOW (for the low price of $8.50 each) on Pomegranate Lacquer's website which will be listed below! Now onto the colors I got!:

On the left is Fit for a Prince and the right is Fairy Berry. Holy gorgeous, right? These two are colors that I have never seen before. You may be thinking, "Mishelle, the blue is fairly common." Well I disagree! I'm a huge blue lover (as I type this I have a blue shirt, blue sweatpants, blue polish, a blue class ring, ect. on.) and if I would have seen this anywhere I would have snagged it up. But alas, I haven't seen it anywhere. Anyways, the one thing I was kind of disappointed in was that the bottle has changed. I really enjoyed the old square bottle and the simple logo/design. I'm hoping the change was just for this collection, but if not it doesn't affect the formula, so it will not dissuade me from purchasing.



Fit for a Prince is a regal Monaco blue creme, as described by the company. I have to be completely honest, I had to look up what Monaco actually was, and I'm still not quite sure. I typed in Monaco, and it said it was a place (in pictures, it shows an ocean in which the color looks JUST like this) but while typing in Monaco blue, there was a car that popped up in this exact same color. Either way, the blue is BEAUTIFUL! The formula is thick, even when there is not a lot of polish on the brush. I wiped the brush off on the side of the bottle like I normally do before painting, and it still almost flooded the nail.

This is with 1 coat! ONE COAT! It's outrageously opaque, which is awesome. A completely opaque nail polish is a girls best friend, less coats means less dry time and more manicures! The thick formula works to the advantage of not needing a lot of coats, so it's almost a good thing it's thick!



 

Now one thing I REALLY love about Pomegranate Nail Lacquer's polish is that they dry SUPER fast! Literally, I applied this, took pictures, uploaded them to my computer, and by the time I was done that (10 minutes), they were completely dried. This polish applies very smoothly, and did not come off streaky at any time during application. The color, to me, is almost like an electric navy blue. It has a little hint of purple undertone in real life.



Fairy Berry is a sparkling magenta polish with silver shimmer. I'm obsessed with this polish. It's SO pretty both in bottle and on the nail. The formula for Fairy Berry is perfect. It's not thick, but it's not thin either, it's literally just right.



 

Like Fit for a Prince, this polish is opaque! This was 1 coat. While you could use 1 coat, I would do 2 with this polish just as a safe measure.  This polish also dries even FASTER than the other! I was completely surprised. (This is showing blue on my nail, but I promise you, there is no blue in this color!)



 

This is a really nice plum purple that has beautiful silver shimmer and purple micro glitter. For a micro glitter polish, this applied perfectly. It was not streaky, and was not hard to apply/spread. I'm loving the color and the effect so much! While taking the polish off, I noticed if you lightly wiped a nail polish remover dipped cotton ball over it, it creates an AWESOME silver color with some purple in it. If you were to stop there, put a top coat on, you could have a whole other color! I thought that was pretty cool. Once again, there is NO blue in this polish, I'm not sure where it's showing up from.

Incoco Nail Strips Review and Swatch!

I have 5 beginning words. I'm. In. Love. With. Incoco. That's all I want to say, literally. I'm in love with them! I can't help it, their product is just beyond amazing. Having used Sally Hansen Salon Effects, I was going into this experience with a very skeptical mind. I was very nervous because the Sally Hansen Salon Effects are ridiculously terrible (coming from a HUGE SH fan...). I've been avoiding any sort of nail polish strips or stickers until I got sent my lovely package. Even then I was scared of actually applying them because I didn't want to mess them up because of the terrible experience I've had with Sally Hansen. But these were surprisingly very easy to put on! The set I used was Fairy Tale Ending which was the awesomely beautiful, blinged out pink glitter applique.

I love the nudeish, very soft effect that it has on my nails with my skin tone. I really think these would look GORGEOUS on a darker skin tone as well. This picture was taken at 3 days wearing them, almost 4 days, and they're still going super strong. The tips are a little chipped (partly due to the fact some of them I accidently filed off too short during application) Like I said, I'm not used to the process of putting these types of things on, so I'll need to get the hang of it. I feel that they're such high quality and really can withstand any amount of work or everyday wear and tear. The fact that they can be positioned, and if you mess up, you can reposition them, is amazing, because that's one of the things that frustrates me with nail stickers or appliques is that I can't get it on completely straight first try. The one problem I'm having is that it seems to be lifting up toward my cuticles (even though they're not on my skin) but I've heard a little top coat can fix that problem.

I'm really super in love with this design and I can't stop looking at my nails. I will be wearing these until they get worn out, like I said, it's day 3 (almost 4) and they're going strong! I can't wait to wear the other designs! I even saved the extras that I didn't use so I could size them up as accent nails for different colors of polish!

I honestly think that these are well worth the $10 that they cost, and urge any nail polish fanatic to go out and get them!

 

 

Incoco Nail Polish Strips!

I was sent a generous package a week ago (I'm a little late on the post, because I lost my internet...) from Incoco which included 7 PACKAGES OF NAIL POLISH STRIPS! I was so estatic and blessed with the fact that they were so kind to send me them to try and review. They had sent me 3 of their new Valentines collection, and a set of polish strips from the new hit series GIRLS on HBO which is my honest to God FAVORITE SHOW IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. The set of Girls strips they had sent me are an exclusive that are NOT sold to the general public. The only way you could get your paws on them where to win from their Facebook Contests, so I'm beyond grateful to have gotten them. Now seeings as I have 7 sets, I will be posting single blogs with the pictures of the strips in action, because I'd like to wear them and experience each one rather than put them on, take a picture, and take them off. I don't want to waste them. My first post will be later this week showing off one of the Valentines Day designs.

Incoco Nail Polish Strips are REAL nail polish! They're not just stickers, or decals, they are made with 100% real polish. There is absolutely NO drying time, smudges, or streaks so they're perfect to put on and go, especially if you're going to a special event and want a fresh manicure! The prices on these strips are very reasonable ($10), and I've only heard great reviews on them. I can't wait to personally try them out! Each pack comes with 2 sheets of 8 strips, but some say they're big enough to do both of your hands with one sheet if done carefully...the first time I try it, I won't be doing that, I will be using them as intended.

Pretty In Pink. Sorry that my camera kept catching the glare of my room (which is aqua, orange and yellow mind you...) so it looks sort of yellowish, but I promise you, this is a beautiful dark pink that has black polka dots on it, pretty basic, but gorgeous at the same time!





Cross My Heart. This is a unique pattern that is an off white color for the base, with little purple xo's and pink hearts. This design is literally amazing, and at first I didn't realize the little hearts. I think this is the set I'm going to wear on Valentines day :) The little xo's and hearts are so put together that it gives the whole strip this light pink appearance, but if you look closely you can see that the base color actually isn't pink, it's the off white color.



Lastly we have Fairy Tale Ending which is coincidentally the name of the entire Valentines Day collection! I'm so in love with this design! It's completely covered in a light pink glitter with giant purply pink circle confetti thrown on top. How cute is this? I love the sparkle of this design, it really adds a beautiful bling to valentines day.

Jessa. This is an AWESOME turquoise design! This reminds me of the cracked turquoise jewelry that you can find almost anywhere. It's such a neat, unique design made for a unique character. Jessa is a bohemian/indie styled girl who loves to travel the world, and I find that this fits her almost perfectly.





Marnie. Marnie's strip is a classic tan plaid design. It reminds me of a watered down Burberry plaid. Marnie is Hannah's best friend, and a "very serious" person, an art assistant, and is VERY stylish! She is one of my favorite characters on here, besides Hannah of course, and Shoshanna.



Shoshanna. Her design is a beautiful baby pink with black bows all over it. It's AWESOME and one of my favorite designs. Shoshanna is Jessa's cousin. She's one of the best characters, and to me almost seems a little bipolar. She is crazy, but it's awesome. She's very bubbly and very girly, so these fit her personality perfectly.



Last but not least we have the best design for the best character, Hannah. Oh. My. God. How cool is this? WOOD! I would LOVE to have a million sets of these. Anyways, Hannah is the main character of the show. She's an aspiring writer, and she's just the funniest, most sarcastic, witty, clever person in existence. I'm not sure the reasoning behind the wood for Hannah, but it just fits. It's totally her, and I don't know why.

 

I can't wait to try these suckers out, so stay tuned for other posts with "swatches" and possibly tutorial of how to put them on!

Indie Spotlight: LynBDesigns.Etsy.Com!

I received a package in the mail the other day in which I was sent two GORGEOUS polishes from the lovely LynBDesigns at Etsy.com to review and swatch for my blog. I would have had this up earlier, but had since broke my pinkie ON MY SWATCHING HAND and it's a little difficult to type since it's all bundled up. Luckily I was able to swatch the colors BEFORE my pinkie got messed up :) The two colors I received were Black Tie and Oswin Oswald. The owner of LynBDesigns, Jenna Miller, makes all of her polish by hand with blends from multiple glitters and pigments. Jenna has some great collections made in honor of different shows, games, or things in general. Some of her collections include the Baker Street collection, which is for Sherlock Holmes, the Dweam Wiffim a Dweam collection, which is for Princess Bride, and the Doctor is in collection, which is for Doctor Who. She carefully chooses different color combinations to match certain things from the media that she bases it off of. So with that said, here are the polishes I received:

As you can see, I received Black Tie and Oswin Oswald. Black Tie is from the "Dressed to Kill" collection, and Oswin Oswald is from the "Just Stories" collection, which is another Doctor Who collection.

Black Tie is a beautiful, creamy black, with gold flecks in it. The flecks in it, depending on the light that you look at it in, sometimes come off as  greenish gold color.

This is a better picture to show the beautiful gold flecks in it. The formula for this polish is awesome. This polish isn't thick, but it's also not thin like a lot of regular black polishes I have, it's the perfect consistency. You get a lot of flecks on your nail, which is always good so you don't have to keep layering polish which in turn makes it harder to dry fully. However, I do wish the flecks were more prominent, and by that I mean I wish they shined more. When applying them to your nail, they show wonderfully, but as it dries they become more dull or almost sunken into the polish. Although I do wish they had a little more shine to them, I do like the result that it brings. I'm someone who will wear just plain black polish, and sometimes it's a little too dark and dull, so the extra shimmer that this polish puts off while still bearing that creamy black is beautiful.

From left to right, nails 1 and 3 have two coats of Black Tie, and one coat of NYC clear coat. Nails 2 and 4 have two coats of Black Tie, and one coat of NYC Matte Me Crazy. I wanted to do a matte top coat to see if it could bring the gold out a little more, and as you can see it did end up dulling it just a tad so you could see that the gold flecks are in it, as nails 1 and 3 are kind of too glossy to see them. I had a really hard time trying to capture this polish on camera.

Here you can see a few flecks, but it looks predominantly black. My camera wasn't picking up the gold, so I tried taking another picture:

Usually I only take 2 pictures per swatch, but I had to do a third to try and get it the way it's supposed to be, and I didn't really have luck unfortunately :(



Oswin Oswald is a sheer, red, almost jelly polish with large white diamond confetti, silver hexagons, small red glitter and small holographic glitter. Now, I say holographic glitter because the silver hexagons give off a silver reflection, while the small glitter gives of a rainbowy effect in certain light. This is my new favorite polish EVER. I'm so in love with this color! :)



In this picture, the hexagons are showing up white, but they're aren't, they're silver :) Once again, this is a fantastic formula. It goes on extremely smoothly for a chunky glitter polish. I love that this can work as both an over coat, or it can be buildable to opacity to be worn alone. This polish really reminds me of one of Batman's nemesis' Harley Quinn. I however wish that the white diamonds came out more, BUT I actually like it doesn't overload the nails with them. It's a nice added touch to have just a few diamonds on the whole manicure rather than a bunch on 1 nail.



For my swatch I did two coats of Oswin Oswald over the first two fingers, two coats of it over 1 coat of Shades of the Season black on the third finger, and two coats of it over 2 coats of Hard to Get by Sally Hansen on my pinkie. I then put 1 coat of NYC New York Color clear coat over fingers 1, 3, and 4. Personally I like this polish over nothing, just on my normal nails. I feel that having it over white makes the color more pink, and I feel that it takes away from the shine and sparkle of the polish. I'm not crazy having it over black, but I'd definitely wear it like that. I'd love to put it over silver :)

Here you can see the awesome diamonds plastered on my nails :) I really love it! I think it looks awesome. This polish literally dries lightning fast. I was so shocked at how fast it dried.

Overall I feel that these polishes are a great addition to any polish fan's collection. Although I found a couple things I wish were different, I think that the pros out weigh what I didn't like!

Wet N' Wild Wildshine Saved by the Bell collection (-1) swatches and review!

Let me start by saying I'm a HUGE Saved by the Bell fan, I used to watch it ALL the time with my sister, and even before school. When I was extremely sick and stayed home from school, I'd still wake up at 6am just to watch it! I loved everything about it, and in the summer, when this collection came out, I freaked out and went to every single store that sold Wet N' Wild stuff and could NOT find it in my area! I was distraught! I had to have it, yet couldn't find it. I looked everywhere online and people were saying they were having a hard time finding it as well. So the other day, I was randomly thinking "Huh, I wonder if Ocean State would have them..." because they often have collections that go under the radar. So I went there, and low and behold I found ONE! Literally 1! That was it...it was Pom Pom Kelly. I was so excited I almost cried! It was the last one left. So a few days later we went to another Ocean State and they had 4 OTHERS!!! I was so happy, so now I only need 1, Nerd Alert: Screech! Anyways, here they are in all their glory!

These are the ones I have, from left to right: Chick Magnet Zack, Straight A Jesse, Pin'em Slater, Pom Pom Kelly, and Fashionista Lisa. Look at how bright and beautiful they are! Now if you don't know, with neon colors or bright colors, you should layer them over 1 or 2 thin coats of white. It helps make the colors stand out brighter.

 

This is Pom Pom Kelly, and the picture, as usual, is not doing this ANY justice. This is a gorgeous neon pink color.There's nothing too unique about this color, but it's still beautiful! 

I tried dimming my lights just a tad bit to see if I could get it's true color, but I couldn't. This is showing up as a corally color, but it is actually very bright. For this swatch, I didn't think to do the white coat underneath because I was just too excited to swatch it. So this is 2 coats over my regular nails.

In this picture, it's perfect to see how sheer this color is. With two coats, you can still see my nail line. Something that I don't like, but with the white underneath, it would fix the problem! This formula is very thin/sheer, so three coats might be best. All of the colors in this collection dry to a satiny finish. This meaning it's not glossy, yet it's not completely matte.

This is Pin'em Slater, which almost confused me. I would have thought that Zack's color would be yellow because of his hair...but whatever! Pin'em Slater is a beautiful neon yellow, of course, like Pom Pom Kelly, this is a very very sheer color. 

Now you can see the real colors! The first two have no white underneath, while the last two have two thin coats of Sally Hansen Hard to Get. You can see that the first two still show my real nail below the polish. 

I'm totally in love with the brightness of this color! This will be a perfect summer color. The formula, is thin, and also sheer (as I said before) but spreads on very easily.

Fashionista Lisa is a color that I'm not too crazy about...possibly because I have multiple different colors that remind me of this. I would describe this color as a fuchsia, plumy, violet color. I have two dupes in mind for this, Fuchsiarama by Wet N' Wild Fast Dry, and Vibrant Violet by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. This again, is a very sheer color.

With this one, I did three coats. First 2 are by themselves, the last two fingers are over two thin white coats. Although this color is thin and sheer as well, in this picture it doesn't look like there is much of a difference if you wear it alone or over white.

I guess in this picture you can see a little difference as to the last two nails are brighter. I think it's an okay color, but not one I'll run to...I'm really not crazy about it. It of course dries to a satin finish.

Straight-A Jesse is a BEAUTIFUL neon orange! I'm diggin' this color a lot! Like it's partners above, this is another very sheer/thin polish. It's not unique, just a great, neon orange.

Once again, the first two nails are just 2 coats of Straight-A Jesse, and the last two have Straight-A Jesse over two coats of white. I'm loving the neon orange pay off this has over white. It's actually almost like the perfect carrot color...if carrots were neon... 

Another thing I'm loving about these polishes is the satin finish. I like it a lot...it makes the neons almost brighter in my opinion. This is another I can't wait to wear in the summer...or now ;)

This is Chick Magnet Zack, and my absolute FAVORITE one from the collection. Holy beautiful. This is a gorgeous dark teal color with light teal micro glitters in it. Now with this drying satin as well, it really makes the glitters look awesome!!! 

Now, there's a little saying that goes "One of these things are not like the other..." and this is the definition of that. This polish is NOTHING like the others! It's a little bit thicker, opaque, and dark. I'm not quite sure where this fit in...but I could care less because I love it! This was just 2 coats of it on my natural nail, no white underneath. Beautiful right?

The first finger on this photo shows the satin finish perfectly. I just, the satin finish, with the glitter, and the color itself really works for this polish. I'm currently wearing this on 4 fingers (and will be painting the rest tomorrow...I'm too tired ;D) but I'm curious to see how this would look with a matte top coat on!

 

I bought all of these polishes at my local Ocean State Job Lot for $.88 a piece! Crazy steal! :)
