So I'm just going to go down the line of the card on the back, and the first item is my favorite:
"With simple vegan ingredients like sweet potato, brown sugar, cranberries, and oatmeal, this mouthwatering cookie will make you feel full and happy."
Mom: Mix between Gingerbread + oatmeal raisin. Very good!
Dad: (Side Note: At first, he didn't even want to try it, he was disgusted by the Sweet Potato) Okay, a little floury.
You can purchase a 12 pack of these cookies on their website for $36, making this cookie $3.00! That's expensive for a cookie, but this is huge and delicious! :)
"Made from a time-honored traditional French recipe with all-natural ingredients that could easily be found in your Grandmother's Kitchen."
Now...that's a little weird that they'd tell you that...I mean it's a little comforting knowing that there are no ingredients in here that are weird or out of the ordinary, but to me they were almost implying that you can make this right at home. Luckily for me, I have an aunt into the canning and jamifying (yeah...that's a new word) so I don't have to do the work :)
Mom: Smells very good and is the PERFECT jam/jelly.
Dad: Good, Sweet, could use less sweet and more strawberry though.
You can purchase a 13 oz jar of this awesome jam for $5.69 on their website, making this sample roughly $0.44
The next item is Caffe Borsa Hand Drip Premium Coffee in Sumatra. This 0.25 oz packet was a 1 serving cup. From the card:
"Be your own Barista! Follow the package instructions to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of single-origin coffee!"
There's really not much more to say about it except it looks like an octopus when it's attached to your cup.
I didn't take pictures of it set up and dripping, because I really didn't think it was important. I also didn't try this because it turned me off, so I let my parents have the privilege of it, and here's what they had to say:
Mom: Tasted like water, easier to make a pot of coffee itself. If they wanted to do something like this, they should have made it in a tea bag form
Dad: Not good, doesn't taste like coffee and is a stupid concept.
You can buy 2 boxes of this coffee on their website for $17.99. Each box contains 8 packets, making this sample roughly $1.13
"Legend has it that this spice makes food taste so good it'll make you want to 'Slap Ya Mama'"
This certified Cajun spice is DELICIOUS in eggs! I put some into my omelet every time I have one, and it makes it just a tad bit spicy. A little goes a very long way with this spice! My parents wanted nothing to do with it :)
"Fresh tomato slices are gently dried to a crisp texture, making a tasty addition to breakfast sandwiches"
Well...I'm not so sure about the breakfast sandwich idea, as I wasn't crazy about these. While they had a lot of flavor, the texture and after taste really threw me off. They were very weird snacks, but my dog was obsessed with them! He absolutely devoured the rest of the bag. They almost remind me of pigs ears for dogs!
Mom: Great burst of flavor, would be perfect for salads, cooking, ect.
Dad: I couldn't eat a bag, they have an aftertaste of ketchup.
Logan: WOOF WOOF
You can purchase a .46 oz bag (which is this size) for $1.99.
"Inspired by Grandma's handmade Italian biscotti, this authentic baked good features locally sourced ingredients."
Mom: Very nice and good. Good texture, and the flavor is awesome!
Dad: Taste like an almond macaroon, very good.
You can purchase these singly online for $2.00. They don't sell these right on their site, so you'll have to look around for them. They're also almost exclusively sold in CA.
Next is this Latte Candy from Bali's Best. It's a simple hard candy that is supposed to taste like a Latte. From the card:
"From seed to cup to candy, real Arabica coffee beans flavor this hard candy with a creamy milk center."
I also, never got to take a picture of what they actually looked like, because my parents scoffed them up.
Mom: Very good flavoring, would love more.
Dad: Pretty good! Taste just like coffee, sugar, creamer ect.
You can purchase a 2.2lb bag of these online for $9.99, with roughly 120 pieces per pound, making each piece about $.27 and this total sample $0.54
Last, but most certainly not least, is this month's "Mystery Item". The item was Mrs. May's Natural Coconut Almond crunch! These Coconut Almond Slow Dry Roasted Snacks are all natural, cholesterol free, dairy-free, wheat-free and gluten-free. Not to mention a portion of the proceeds from buying these go to Wheels for the World which is a non-profit organization aimed in helping to collect and restore wheelchairs for people in need. The card didn't have anything about this product on it since it was the Mystery Item.
Mom: Should have done it with a softer nut.
Dad: Not bad, waiting for a popcorn like Cracker Jack.
You can purchase a 5 oz bag of these on their website for $3.12! Making this 2 oz sample roughly $1.26! I love everything about this delicious snack, and I will most certainly be purchasing more!
This box had an overall value of $11! That's not bad, considering the box cost $10 + $2 for shipping.
Overall I really enjoy this company, and look forward to purchasing more boxes. I think that it's for a great cause, and allows me to try foods I normally wouldn't!
