A few weeks ago I received my first Nature Box in the mail! This was such a good deal as I only paid $1 with mine using a promo code that was given to me. For those who don't know, Nature Box is a subscription service in which you pay monthly for a box of healthy snacks delivered right to your door! Currently there are 3 plans that you can order from. The first is the Deluxe Package which is $19.95 a month, and you receive 5 full sized bags of healthy snacks! The next plan is the Family Snacker and it's $29.95 and offers 10 full sized bags (5 different snacks, 2 bags each)! The last plan is the Professional Snacker and it's $49.95 and gives you 20 full sized bags of snacks! (5 different snacks, 4 bags each)! The best part about it is that you can pause or cancel at ANY time! So you're not locked in for good! Now let's get on with my box, which is the Deluxe Package!
This is my awesome box! As you can see, they're all generically packed, but have the names and serving sizes of the snacks on the back. The sizes are AWESOME and have lasted me for a couple weeks...I still have some of each left! It also came with 2 cards; 1 information card and 1 saying they're transitioning into a new look. I will be referring to the card as I go along. The card reads:
"The Spice of Life: They say variety is the spice of life and, when it comes to snacking, we couldn't agree more! Noshing on the same thing day in and day out can lead to snack burnout (and maybe even an unwanted trip to the vending machine). With this month's diverse and delectable treats, you'll constantly be asking yourself 'is it snack time yet?'"
With that being said, here are the treats I got:
First thing I received was this bag of Lemon Meringue Waffles. These are little waffle cookies almost, with a nice lemony sugar on top! They're very light and delicious. From the card:
"Satisfy your sweet tooth without stretching your waistband with these lacy waffles with just a hint of lemon zest. We can't imagine afternoon tea without a few of these!"
These things were one of my FAVORITES out of the box! I loved the lightness of them, and the flavor was amazing. It wasn't too overpowering but it wasn't bland at all either. The sugar on top was honestly DELICIOUS and I've tried to save these because I don't want to run out!
Mom: Tastes stale but has a good flavor. If more sugar were to be added on top, I think it would be way too much.
Dad: Flavor goes away real fast, then it's just gross. Tastes like a plain wafer.
Unfortunately, with the way these are packaged, there is no way you can buy them online, unless someone is selling them through a box trading site... :(
The next items were another of my FAVORITE! These were the Italian Bistro Pretzels! These little light baked pretzel nuggets have an awesome spice mixture on them that is like the bread sticks you get at restaurants! They have a garlic, onion, cheese, and butter mixture that is piled on nicely, and is AMAZING! From the card:
"Enjoy all the flavors of your favorite pizzeria breadsticks without the greasy mess or take-out bill. When nothing but a crunchy, zesty snack will do, these Bistro Pretzels hit the spot!"
Oh...my...God...these things are DELICIOUS! I think they're BETTER than regular breadsticks! These are like croutons more than pretzels in my opinion, but perfect all the same. The mixture on top is ridiculously tasty! This has to be one of my favorites of the box as well...which is hard to say because I loved 4 out of 5 bags!!
Mom: Very good, awesome flavoring!
Dad: Awesome!
Next is the one item I honestly didn't like at all...the Taj Mahal Snack Mix. This is a large mixture of different items, almost like a trail mix, but with a weird spice on top of it. Inside of the mixture is sunflower seeds, almonds, raisins, oat bran, flax seeds, sesame seeds and dried mangos! From the card:
"Take your taste buds around the globe with a smoky Indian curry, sweet mangoes, nuts and seeds. We love the balance of chewy/crunchy textures and the pleasant depth of flavors."
Usually I really like trail mix type snacks, but this was just all wrong. The spice mixture with the seeds, nuts and fruit just made me sick. The spice was too smokey and weird for my tastebuds, and I found that it really didn't mix well with the items in the mix.
Mom: I like it! Would have never thought of curry to go on top of these items, but it goes very well.
Dad: Flavor wise, it reminds me of Chex Mix. Trail mix otherwise.
Next was this bag of 5 single bars of Whole Wheat Raspberry Figgy Bars! These are basically a whole wheat version of Fig Newtons...but better. Not really much to say about them otherwise. From the card:
"Kids and adults unanimously love our Whole Wheat Figgy Bars, but fresh raspberries take these bars to a whole new level. Good thing they're wrapped up- it's hard to eat just one!"
I really loved these bars! They're really soft, and full of flavor! They taste nice and fresh, and the fruit in the middle is fresh as well, it tastes like real fruit and not just processed junk! I loved these things :)
Mom: Blow Fig Newtons away! Awesome cookie!
Dad: Really, really good!
Last but most certainly not least, is this bag of Banana Bread Granola! This is a nice mixture of oats, raisins, puffed rice, walnuts, banana, sesame seeds, unsweetened coconut and a delicious spice mix that is out of this world! From the card:
"Banana Bread may be the perfect breakfast treat, but who has time for baking in the morning? Enjoy this granola with tangy Greek yogurt and a streaming cup of tea for a comforting but healthy breakfast"
This is another item I've tried putting off eating because I want to save it forever! Unfortunately, that's going to be hard considering it's almost gone, and with something this good I can't help but eat a lot of it... I really love this item, and think that everything pairs so nicely!
Mom: Like it, but it's just typical granola, it isn't really banana flavored.
Dad: Good but doesn't have a big banana flavor.
Overall, I think this is just an okay box. I don't know if I'd be able to spend the $19.95 on 5 bags of snacks though...there's something about the cost that really puts me on the fence of ordering this box every month. I really did enjoy the snacks on the inside though, but where you can't really order more of the same snack, unless you subscribe, it kind of irritates me... Maybe I'll try it again in the future, but for now my account is on hold!
